IPTV provider comparison 2027: price, features and devices side by side

We pulled the pricing pages of twelve live TV and streaming services on the same afternoon and put the numbers in two tables: six full IPTV line-ups, and six budget or free alternatives. No estimates, no old figures copied from other blogs — just what each provider was charging when we looked.

The short answer

  • Cheapest paid plan: Frndly TV at $8.99 a month, then Philo at $25 with a 7-day trial.
  • Best free option: Sling Freestream, 600+ live channels and free DVR with no card.
  • Best all-round IPTV subscription: YouTube TV at $82.99, thanks to unlimited DVR and three streams.
  • Most channels: Fubo, up to 431 in some areas, at $88.99 and up.
  • Most screens at home: DirecTV Stream — unlimited on your own network, from $49.99.
  • Featured partner: Smartiflix, from $14 a month — read the full review before comparing it to the licensed services below.

Budget and free IPTV alternatives worth knowing

Six cheaper streaming services people pair with a main plan, or use instead of one. Three of them cost nothing at all. None replaces a full line-up, but together they cover a surprising amount of what most households actually watch.

How to read any IPTV pricing page without getting stung

  1. Find the regular rate first. The big number on the page is usually the intro price. The real one sits in the small print underneath.
  2. Count screens, not channels. A plan with one stream is a single-person plan, however many channels it lists.
  3. Check your ZIP code. Local stations and regional sports networks are the difference between a service being brilliant and useless, and they change street by street.
  4. Add the add-ons. 4K, extra screens, sports packs and DVR upgrades routinely add $20 to a bill that looked cheap.
  5. Test during your worst hour. Sign up on a trial and watch at 8pm on a Sunday, when your neighbourhood's broadband is busiest.

Questions people ask about IPTV comparisons

Which IPTV provider gives the most channels for the money?

On raw numbers Fubo lists up to 431 channels in some ZIP codes, but Philo at $25 a month gives the lowest cost per channel you will actually watch if you do not need sports or local stations. Channel counts are marketing figures — count the ten channels you really use instead.

Do all IPTV services work on a Fire Stick and Roku?

Every mainstream service in this comparison ships apps for Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and both phone platforms. The differences show up further out: game consoles, older smart TVs and casting support vary by provider.

How many people can watch at the same time?

Two on Hulu + Live TV, three on Philo and YouTube TV, one on Sling Orange, and up to ten at home on Fubo. DirecTV Stream allows unlimited streams on your own network. Check this before you split a plan with family.

Is the advertised price the price I pay?

Rarely in month one. Most providers run an intro rate — $54.99 for three months on YouTube TV, around $4.99 for the first month on Sling — then bill the regular rate. Diary the renewal date the day you sign up.

Is there a genuinely free IPTV option?

Yes. Sling Freestream lists 600+ free live channels with free DVR, Plex carries 600+ free channels, and Pluto TV runs hundreds more. They are ad-supported and carry no locals or live sport, but they cost nothing and need no card.

What is the cheapest paid live TV service in 2027?

Frndly TV at $8.99 a month for 50+ family channels, then Philo at $25 for a much wider entertainment line-up. If you need sports, Sling Orange at $45.99 is the realistic floor.

How often is this comparison updated?

Prices were read straight from each provider's own pricing page on 25 August 2026. Live TV pricing moves several times a year, so confirm on the provider's site before you pay.

Prices are the publicly listed US rates on each provider's own site, checked 25 August 2026. Smartiflix is a commercial partner and its placement is disclosed. Back to the best IPTV service rankings.
